I’m still curious as to why anyone can be given the rights to dispose of a body (in most states), yet it is extremely restrictive on who can perform medicine on a body. Wouldn’t it seem that disposing of a body would be held in more regard than simply performing medicine. Maybe I’m comparing a car to a hippo. I don’t know, but it just doesn’t seem right. Funeral law only pertains to funeral homes when it should pertain to anything regarding funerals or dispositions.
Joe, I agree. What we miss is that we think the process from sale to delivery is direct. All the mechanisms are already in place for this to happen through a subcontracting format. Think about the various shipping services that already exist that simply take your call and arrange for removal and shipping. They don’t have a license and never touch a body.
